Opening Ceremony

One of my favorite to-die-for boutiques that seems to be hidden from this part of the world is called Opening Ceremony. Nestled in a plush garden on the trendy La Cienega Boulevard, Opening Ceremony is nothing but retail bliss. It boasts of names such as Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Vena Cava and even Versace Versus and its quirky yet sharp interiors subtly mirror the merchandise. There are just too many things to love about this shopping haven. Here are 3 things I love about OC:

1) Location! Location! Location!: Not only is it located a few minutes from both Robertson & Melrose in Los Angeles. It is over 6000 square feet of designer haven. The success of the Opening Ceremony thanks to its devoted shoppers sparked off new stores in Tokyo and New York. If you are in either of the places I would recommend this just as much as the Statue of Liberty itself. Trust me its an experience.

2) Globalization: What I love additionally about Opening Ceremony is it tries to include brands and designers from all over the globe. Also our favourite design houses have especially contributed to Opening Ceremony by collaborating on looks for them. Some of these include Jean Paul Gaultier, Comme des Garcons, Jeremy Scott and even the likes of Dr.Marten's. Also featured is a new concept of boutique shopping: Branded shop-in-shop’s within Opening Ceremony L.A.’s second-floor “Mini-Mall.” Individual brands have created their own atmosphere and individual retail environments. Just like Alex Wang's below:

3) Looksbooks: I love how creative Opening Ceremony gets with their looks books. Check out this youtube video for the opening ceremony lookbook last year. It stars superstar Jason Schwartzman and cutie Kirsten Dunst. They sing along to this slow jam while wearing Opening Ceremony's super-covetable last collection.

If this still doesn't impress you, I'm sure Christopher Kane and Colette will make up for your loss ;)
